This book Handjob by Michael Perry has been out for a grip, but it always gets my creative juices flowing. I have always been a firm believer of handdrawn typography, and the fact that it can get the message across with the most personality.

This is a great series of I have no idea whats, by the artist John Ross of I have no idea wheres. This feature in S Mag entitled Impressions appears to be impressions of nudes in plaster. Very textural, hah, I’ve been waiting to say that.

The Big Rip Off

This promo piece from photographer David Stewart is pretty amazing, and because It is so big, these photos do it little justice. Foil stamping on the cover, and filled with huge newspaper sized posters. Look at that perforated seal on the back, nice touch.

I managed to salvage this poster from our garage one weekend during college. It’s my moms senior show poster from when she was studying communication arts. Now you see where i get my freckles from.

Helmut Newton

So… Helmut Newton. This man worked as a fashion photographer for over half a century, and is highly regarded as one of the best that ever lived. This book, published by Taschen, is a collection of some of his work for Playboy. Taschen also published his book SUMO, which is “The biggest and most expensive book production in the 20th century.” This book cost $15,000 and Taschen quickly sold out their edition of 10,000 copies. Ridiculous. The book weighs 66 pounds. I saw it in person, and it is quite the spectacle.

My Grandmother left me her library of books when she passed away, and they are full of treasures like this. Photographs and newspaper articles stuffed in next to articles and stories they pertain to. This is a photograph taken by my grandmother Dolores of the house in which this Vuillard painting took place.
