This book Handjob by Michael Perry has been out for a grip, but it always gets my creative juices flowing. I have always been a firm believer of handdrawn typography, and the fact that it can get the message across with the most personality.

Abbey Lee the hypnotist

This editorial is from one of my go-to magazines, Dazed and Confused. They are routinely on time with their reviews and always have really interesting fashion stories. For example, this particular story is featuring the amazing Abbey Lee, and is inspired by Where the Wild Things Are. Abbey, if you see this feel free to contact me anytime.

Remember Paper Invites

These were a gift from Lilli who is dabbling in letterpress at the moment. She embossed me some invites to commemorate my event. Very thoughtful and cool.

Remember Paper Issue 1

Just before he died, Salinger had his covers redesigned before their re-release.
wow this image is terrible, i will post some better ones in a day or so. I just wanted to share. Issue #1 of Remember Paper. The opening party was great, thanks for everyone who came.

Impressions

This is a great series of I have no idea whats, by the artist John Ross of I have no idea wheres. This feature in S Mag entitled Impressions appears to be impressions of nudes in plaster. Very textural, hah, I’ve been waiting to say that.

The Big Rip Off

This promo piece from photographer David Stewart is pretty amazing, and because It is so big, these photos do it little justice. Foil stamping on the cover, and filled with huge newspaper sized posters. Look at that perforated seal on the back, nice touch.

Hiroki Otsuka

This is the work of Hiroki Otsuka in the last issue of S. If you are in Brooklyn, he has work in Shag over on Roebling St.

Jacques Autumn 2009

Williamsburg’s own Jacques Magazine has it’s latest issue on the shelves. Love that big format.

Mr. Friis

Here we have an editorial shot by Christian Friis for S Magazine issue 9.
I love Egon Schiele, and his unique spin on expressionism and the almost unfinished quality of his work. This particular one is published by Grange out of the UK.

It's My Ma

I managed to salvage this poster from our garage one weekend during college. It’s my moms senior show poster from when she was studying communication arts. Now you see where i get my freckles from.

Helmut Newton

So… Helmut Newton. This man worked as a fashion photographer for over half a century, and is highly regarded as one of the best that ever lived. This book, published by Taschen, is a collection of some of his work for Playboy. Taschen also published his book SUMO, which is “The biggest and most expensive book production in the 20th century.” This book cost $15,000 and Taschen quickly sold out their edition of 10,000 copies. Ridiculous. The book weighs 66 pounds. I saw it in person, and it is quite the spectacle.

Whiplash Girlchild

This story is shot by Cameron Krone for my man Henrik Purienne’s MIrage. Absolutely love love and it reminds me of Sam Haskins in a way. Sorry for the nudity… not really though.

Vuillard

My Grandmother left me her library of books when she passed away, and they are full of treasures like this. Photographs and newspaper articles stuffed in next to articles and stories they pertain to. This is a photograph taken by my grandmother Dolores of the house in which this Vuillard painting took place.

Mike Giant

Mike Giant is the tops when it comes to black and white graphics and tattoos. He has a very unique graphic style that I enjoy immensely.

Jethro Tull

While you can buy your music with click, you can’t hold it in your hand, or shuffle through racks, digging in search of what you’ve been waiting for. This is the album Stand Up by the legendary British rock band, Jethro Tull. Are you kidding me with that pop-up!

Francis Giacobetti

Yes that is the Dalai Lama’s eye in case you were wondering. Got my hands on a Stern feature of Francis Giacobetti, which is pretty cool.

The Post

Everybody likes getting letters in the mail. You drop it off in one place and VOILA! Look at the wear and marks they pick up along the way. My favorites come from my buddy John who is over in Asia.
